Three things to start with
- Choose a repeatable range
- Plan daily preparation
- Coordinate restocking with workshop activity
What a florist can offer through a machine
A clear, repeatable bouquet range is easier to manage in a machine. Define packaging, price and preparation time for each size. Bespoke orders can remain with the shop, while the reservation function can support collection through the machine. This separates spontaneous purchases from work requiring a longer customer conversation and lets you plan preparation without making every order identical
Checking preparation capacity
Record how many bouquets you can prepare comfortably and when your workshop has spare capacity. Machine restocking competes with shop orders for the same staff and flowers. If time is already tight, simplify the range or redistribute tasks before expanding. The new channel should fit the working day without undermining existing customers, especially when both channels become busy at the same time
Measuring the benefit to the shop
Track which purchases happen outside shop hours and which replace sales that would otherwise occur in the shop. Record restocking time, journeys and write-offs separately. Evaluate the combined result for the business, not only the machine's turnover. Record reserved-order collections separately as well, so collecting an existing order is not mistaken for a new sale generated by the machine
