Three things to start with
- Observe traffic at the exact point
- Check opening hours
- Agree the site-use terms
Traffic at the exact position
Total centre footfall does not show how many people will pass your display. Observe the exact position on weekdays and weekends at different times. Note the direction people approach from, whether they see the bouquets and whether they can stop without obstructing others. A position near an exit may serve a different buying occasion from one beside a shop used for everyday purchases
Opening hours and servicing rules
Agree when bouquets can be brought in, when service entrances are available and when maintenance can take place. Check whether customers can still reach the machine after the centre closes. If they cannot, do not promise round-the-clock access. Cover electricity billing, connectivity, signage limits and responsibility for the surrounding area in the site agreement
A range for centre visitors
Choose bouquets for occasions such as an impromptu gift, the journey home or a visit. Make price levels clear and packaging easy to carry alongside other purchases. During the first weeks, record which bouquets sell and which remain. Change one element at a time so you can tell whether size, price or presentation affected the result rather than attributing every change to the location
